Juniors from Monday night we had the Bouncy Castle out for Christmas night our last night is on Friday night the 9th of  December we also did arts and Craft Competition Painting some Christmas Stones to put in the Garden well done to all the Volunteers

Great night at Juniors last night lots going on Short Tennis Dodgeball and Football and lots of games going on the 9th December is our Last night of Juniors then we will be looking forward to John Biggs 60 th Anniversary of working at the Youth Club and Community Centre so looking forward to his old friends and old Club Members

28.11.2022 Juniors well done everyone

Great night on Monday night first we did football then we did a Bleep Test which Jaden won and Azaan came second and Mohamed came 3rd everyone did a great job well done to the Kids then Jake did Ladders and Dodge Ball which the Kids Loved well done yet again to our Great Volunteers who kept 42 Kids off the Streets they are Angels.

Great night at juniors on Monday night it was Johnny's Birthday and he still came in so the kids didn't miss out first we started off with a Christmas Card Making Competition and we did Short Tennis for the kids then we did Basketball and the kids loved it then  we did a Buffet with Sandwiches and Donuts and Cakes then we did Football and then Jake did half an hour Musical chairs then the Kids and Volunteers sang Happy Birthday to me which was really nice thanks to everyone and to all our Volunteers and to the 2 new Volunteers who fitted in great 💓💓💓💓

Juniors on Monday great night just wanted  to say a big thanks to the volunteers who steeped in and helped us as we put a message out that we needed more Adult Volunteers to help keep juniors going we had about 5 interested so we hope to get a couple of Volunteers out of this fingers crossed well done to all our Volunteers who keep the Community going .

Halloween Party 31/10/2022.

 Great night for our Halloween Party we had over 35 kids in which is good because Charlestown school had there own party on so good numbers we first started off with hunt the Monster eggs so the kids went looking and they won sweets when they found them .Then we did Pass the Parcel 2 games of that then we did Musical Chairs 3 games of that then we let them have some free play with our Adult Bouncy Castle plus playing football. Then we had the Buffet on made by Nicki and Rebecca so big thanks to them for coming in early to cook the food. Then we announced the winners of the Colouring in Competition. Jake one of our Volunteers had made a quiz on his laptop with the Girls against the Boys so the really enjoyed it . We also had the Fancy Dress Competition and we announced 3 winners but well done to all the Kids who dressed up it was a great night . Big thanks to all our Volunteers who did an amazing job on our Halloween Party all the Kids went home with smiles on their face so that means everything to us to keep all them kids off the streets . 

18.10.2022 NORTH WEST IN BLOOM WE WON OUTSTANDING GARDENS 2022 .

Great day out with Danny Grant one of our Volunteers who has been amazing in our Gardens This will be last one we enter due to not enough Adult Volunteers we have entered for the past 15 to 20 years  so we have done so much to keep the Community looking nice me and Danny went to Bolton Wanderers Stadium it was a great back drop for the day its great to Recognize great volunteers that do great things that Keep these Communities going without Volunteers you have no communities so well done everyone 
 

JUNIORS 17.10.2022

Another great night at Juniors we had 40 kids in that night we did Short Tennis then we did games with Jake in the gym then at the end we did Bench Ball Scarlet got her Certificate for her getting up a hill 480 metres when we took the kids to Ormsidemill  we went to pike duff in the Lakes  and did nice Climb and when we got to the top the Heavens opened and we got soaking wet on the way down .

Monday 10/10/2022

Monday night Juniors went great we had nearly 40 kids in we did Football outside it was nice sunny dry night kids went into the Swing and Slide area then after the hour started to get dark so we went inside and played Tag Rugby and then the girls did Tiktok Dancing and the kids went in Music Studio to listen to some Music and then some kids went on the PCS and played online big thanks to all our Volunteers who do a fantastic job

03.10.2022 Monday night Juniors

Wow another great night tonight we had over 40 kids in we did Gymnastics and Football and we started our Halloween Colouring in Competition Winners will be Announced on our Halloween Party which will be on the Monday night on the 31.10.2022 we do need more Adult Volunteers because we cant accept any more kids with the amount of Children we have coming in a well done to all our Volunteers who are amazing Juniors would not Continue without them

Great night Friday nights Juniors we did Bench Ball and Football and Dodgeball we did an arts and craft competition 40 kids in well done to all our Volunteers who do a great job .

 

MR AND MRS ELLIOT OUR FOUNDERS WE WILL NEVER FORGET THEM BOTH R.I.P 2 ANGELS

Jim and Ethel Elliot are our  Founders they started a Youth Club at St Marks Church the Green Tin Hut which was only a small place with a few Table Tennis Tables and Snooker tables this was in the 1950s and they wanted somewhere that was a bigger place for the Kids and Teenagers to go so they Managed to get funding to have a purpose Built place for the kids and teens to go so they moved in to where we are today in 1967 is when it  officially opened as a Youth Club was opened by Councillor Mrs Elizabeth Yarwood who was the Lady Mayor and we are still here in 2022 going strong in the 1960s Mr and Mrs Elliott gave John Biggs the Leader in charge role which he's done till today it will be 60 years Anniversary a Charlestown has Been such a nicer place to live and Work all the history of the Club is all Because of Mr and Mrs Elliot who's Vision was to help Young people to get them off the streets and in a safe place to come to and we have spread out to now work with over 50s as well with the Luncheon Club /and Walking Netball for the over 50s Netball plus we do the Nomads Day trips for the over 50s where they go to different places 4 times a year getting them out and about so a Big Thanks to all the People who have Volunteered over the many Years to make Charlestown a safer place to Live and Work in       

 
 

Monday night Juniors 26/09/2022/ well done to all our Volunteers.

Monday night Junior Club was a great night we had an Arts Competition and Jake did some chair games with the kids then we played Football in the Gym then we sung Happy Birthday to the new girl Mia who was 7 Years old all the kids where great and sung Happy Birthday to her she had amazing smile on her face well done to all our Volunteers and the Young Volunteers who are doing a great job we had over 40 kids in again and they all went home happy . 

 

Friday night Juniors well done everyone 23/09/2022/

Great night on Friday night we had more than 40 kids in we did a Pamper Session which everyone enjoyed plus we went outside to do some Athletics Games Big thanks to Mike from the Clough Running Club came in to do some running Activities then we went inside to do Dodgeball Big thanks to all our Volunteers who yet again kept 40 kids off the Streets amazing People.

Another great Session with the over 50s Netball Ladies Walking Netball Team this is Funded by the More Clubs who helps over 50s in the Community well done to them for there Support xx

 Great night on Friday night at juniors we did Bowling Football Dodge Ball and 10 pin bowling Big thanks to all our Young and Older Volunteers who do a great job Week in and week out to keep these Kids off the Streets.

29th JULY /31ST JULY /2022 OUR ORMSIDEMILL TRIP

Big thanks to the Boys and Girls Federation for Funding this weekend away at Ormsidemill in the Lake District our Juniors and Volunteers had a great holiday. We started on Friday afternoon we arrived and the kids went straight in to the Stream that had a rope swing the kids had a great time in there then we settle down and Sam and Lynda cooked Tea then we went on a nice country walk then settled down for the night . Saturday morning we travelled to  Dufton Pike Hill which is 150 metres high and all the Kids and Volunteers got to the top and i  was so Proud of everyone then the Heavens opened when we got to the top it Rained Heavy so coming down was a wet one. Then Sunday Morning the Kids and Volunteers did an Archery Session which was great, Run by Grace from the Boys and Girls Clubs.  Well done everyone and thanks to the Factory Zone for allowing us to use their Mini Bus without that we couldn't of got there .   

 

22.07.2022 JUNIORS LAST SESSION

Great night last night at our last Junior Session we close for 6 weeks we had 45 kids in and great work from all our Volunteers without them the club s juniors would close so would like to say a big thanks to them all we open on 05.sep 2022.

Charlestown in Bloom 2022.

We had the Judges around today from the Charlestown in Bloom 2022, would like to thank all involved in helping in our Gardens and Allotments, with Pure Innovations who help Young Adults who have ADHD and Autism they helped Russel from the Wild Life Trust up cycling plastic Bottles to Bird Feeder s and   making 2 Bug Houses and 2 Barrel Ponds to encourage the wildlife to come in to the Clubs Gardens. Now we have Bugs in the Bug House and we have loads of tadpoles in the Barrel Ponds. Plus all the Help Danny Grant gave us in the gardens and Taking us down 2 the Hidden Gem in Heaton Park which we bought load of plants and Hanging Baskets.  The Judges turned up at 10.30am and we shown them around they was really impressed with the Gardens.

Volunteering Week this week Celebrating they great work all Volunteers do in the Communities all over the Country 2022

Great week Celebrating Volunteering Week Recognizing the Great work that our and all Volunteers do up and down the Country and without these People these Communities would be a nightmare to live in its these People who don't sit at home Moaning they get out in there Communities and make a difference to People's lives well done to them all big love to them all anyone who gives up there time to make a difference to the Area they live in 💓💓💓💓💓   

 

ROOF PROGRESS 18TH MAY 2022.

Nice Panoramic Shot of the Progress of the Roof that we are Having done. Big Thanks to The Greater Manchester Boys and Girls Clubs who have helped Fund 10'000 and  also Manchester City Council Through the Niff Fund Giving us 1'500 and we are Putting the rest of it which is 9'000 left to pay.  The club is a flat roof and we have had many Years of Leaking and its getting worse it was Built in 1967 so this is Vital that we stop the Leaking we have just been given an 25 Year Lease from Manchester City Council . So this is very important for the Future of the Club so it will Keep as a Youth Club and Community Centre for that time and Lets hope this will continue for many Years to come every Community Needs a Community Centre like Ours Big Respect to any Volunteer, they keep these Places open and Thieving.    
 

Junior Pamper Session at Whitemoss Youth Club 13.05.2022

Rebecca, Lisa, Thanks for supplying all the nails ,foot spa's and the expertise in hair braids, From what I saw the children loved it and to all those who we couldn't find time to do ,priority list for the next session. Thanks to All the parents who signed the permission paperwork for the children to take part. 18 girls took part while the boys were enjoying the football indoors and outdoors. Thanks to the other volunteers.

Manchester City Council Big Thankyou 03.04.2022

Big Tanks to the Manchester City Council who have given us a ton of Compost that we Filled an Application Form in for and we was Successful with so we put this in our Gardens it looks Amazing so a Big Thanks to them this helps the Community Centre Look nice and will encourage everyone else to keep their gardens nice and Tidy .

Big Thanks to the More Clubs who have sponsored the Goal getters Netball Team and have bought the Ladies the Netball Bibs with the More Clubs and Buzz who have funded 10 weeks to be able to use the club and funded them for New Netballs and equipment .Forever Manchester has Funded 13 weeks for the Netball to use the Club which was £400.00 pounds for 13 Weeks and Winning Hearts and Minds said they would help with funding the Netball for 6 Months which will be 3 months full and 3 Months Half Pay so the Ladies can Continue themselves after that well done to everyone who has helped the Ladies .

Lovely Sunny night on Monday for the Juniors now the clocks have changed the kids can go back outside which is great big thanks to all our great Volunteers Young and Old who do an amazing job keeping kids safe off the streets 40 to 50 kids twice a week 💓💓💓💓
